Good morning y'all! This morning I would like to take a look at something I might not have noticed before. Oh, I am sure that I have always been aware of the principal, but I don't think I have seen it here in Psalm 145 before this morning. Let's look at verses 3-6. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; HIS greatness no one can fathom. One generation will commend YOUR works to another; they will tell of YOUR mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of YOUR majesty, and I will meditate on YOUR wonderful works. They will tell of the power of YOUR awesome works, and I will proclaim YOUR great deeds.
David says we can pass on our love of GOD's WORD from generation to generation; we can pass on our wonder at HIS AWESOME POWER from generation to generation; we can pass on our devotion to our GOD from generation to generation. Let's think about it for a minute. Look at what he said in this Psalm. He said "THEY will tell and I WILL PROCLAIM." In other words, I can tell you today what I am telling you because someone told me. How else could I know the love of GOD unless somebody took the time to share it with me. Look at the verses above. They tell of YOUR MIGHTY ACTS and I meditate on YOUR WONDERFUL WORKS. Think about that for a just a minute. What is it in your life that causes you to ponder the things of GOD? Is it because you got up one morning and just decided that you would think about HIM? I don't believe that is how it works. We meditate on HIM and HIS WORKS because we have somewhere along the way seen HIM do something or we have heard that HE did something. Why did Zacheus climb up in the sycamore tree? It wasn't because he had first hand knowledge of JESUS. Ladies, it was because he had heard about HIM. Now, let's think about that and apply it to our lives today. The people that we come in contact with on a daily basis will only look for JESUS if they have heard about HIS greatness and HIS goodness and HIS mercy and grace (and on and on). They hear about those things when we, HIS CHILDREN, share with them. They might here you sharing with another believer something that GOD has done, they might here you sharing directly with them. Here is the thing: if we don't pass it on, if we don't share with others the things that GOD is doing in our lives and the things that HE is teaching us on a day to day basis we cannot expect them to come to know our SAVIOR. I didn't come to JESUS as a 15 year old because I knew about HIM; it was because of some people that loved HIM enough to love me regardless of the fact that I was a jerk. (I know you are having a hard time imagining that, but believe me it's true.) The cool thing is that the more I get to know HIM the more I realize that others really need HIM. Not because of the things that HE can do in their lives, but just for the sheer joy of knowing HIM. You've met people that you just enjoy being around. I can tell you that JESUS is someone that is just enjoyable to be around. It is enough to just sit in HIS PRESENCE and bask in the glow of who HE is. My prayer is that we are consciously making an effort to pass it on ladies.
