Good morning y'all! Psalm 89:1-2 says this: I will sing of the LORD"s great love forever; with my mouth I will make YOUR faithfulness known through all generations. I will declare that YOUR love stands firm forever, that YOU established YOUR faithfulness in heaven itself.
In order for us to sing of HIS love and make HIS faithfulness known we have to have experienced it in our lives. About two weeks ago two of Allie's best friends here in the neighborhood learned to ride two wheeled bikes. We were all in the kitchen having a small pizza party for Brooke with some of her friends and the back door flew open and in came Allie's little buddies. They were both so excited as they said, "I can ride a two wheeler! Come outside and watch me!" They had learned something new and they couldn't wait to tell everyone they knew about it. As you can imagine, the next day Allie wanted the training wheels taken off of her bike because she wanted to experience what her little friends had. I am happy to report that all three of them are now riding on only two wheels. Here is the point. They were so excited about the new thing that they learned that they couldn't wait to tell everyone they knew.
Psalm 89:15 Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim YOU, who walk in the light of YOUR presence, O LORD.
Just like these three kids wanted to share with everyone what they had learned, this should be our attitude about sharing the love of the LORD JESUS. Ladies, nothing in your life compares with HIM. Nothing in your life will ever give you the peace and joy that comes from knowing HIM. I know this because I have tried many many things and NOTHING OFFERS what KNOWING JESUS SUPPLIES. My little sister wrote a poem when she was in high school. I am sure that I will not get all of the words correct, but I will get the idea and you might get a better picture of what I am saying.
I've searched through popularity and guys that have a name,
I have been to the teenage parties and I've played their childish games.
Oh it's great to be a star on your track team,
And hear everyone calling your name;
But it's not quite as nice and the love of JESUS CHRIST,
NO! THE FEELING IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME.
I'm not suggesting that our relationship with CHRIST is based on our feelings. Our feelings will change and lead us astray, but ladies, NOTHING feels like just resting in HIS arms. When things seem to going all wrong, and nothing you do seems to be working out right it is wonderful to be able to come to HIM and drop everything that you are juggling and just rest in HIS arms. It is wonderful to be able to come to HIM and say, "LORD, I am frustrated and I am aggravated and I don't understand, but I know that YOU began this work and in YOUR WORD YOU promised that you would finish it." HE is honored when we come to HIM and share our hearts with HIM. HE wants to hear our deepest desires, and HE wants to fulfill our lives with HIS JOY. I wonder this morning are you experiencing the JOY that ONLY COMES FROM JESUS? Ladies, it is available. This is why HE came. HE was born to die and in HIS dying HE made a way for each of us to live.
My prayer in closing today is that each of us will be passionate about the LORD JESUS. I want HIM to make me as passionate about HIM as HE is about us. In order to be willing to die for a person you must have an icredible amount of love for them. If you had been the only one JESUS CHRIST would have given HIS LIFE for YOU! Do you believe it?
