Good morning y'all! I want to share with you this morning from Psalm 102:18-20. Let's look at the WORD first this morning and then I will make a few comments. Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the LORD: The LORD looked down from HIS sanctuary on high, from heaven HE viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.
My first thought is, "what is being written for a future generation?" Specifically what does the WORD of GOD say, and then generally what does my life say. The WORD says, "The LORD looked down from HIS sanctuary on high, from heaven HE viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death." I asked myself this morning, "Vick, does your life suggest to those who come behind you that the LORD JESUS looked down from heaven on your behalf?"
Do you get my point ladies? We can look at the WORD and it is plain what the Psalmist was writing. HE wanted all who would come later to recognize that the LORD is very interested in our freedom. So much so that HE took the time to look down from HIS throne and notice our condition. HE heard our groans and cries, HE recognized that we were prisoners in need of release. Ladies, the WORD of GOD is replete with references to freedom. This is what our FATHER desires for us. Realizing this I asked myself, "does my life suggests this?" What does my life say to my children so that their lives will suggest it to their children? Take some time today and look for references in to freedom in the WORD of GOD. Ask the FATHER if your life will suggest to those coming behind you that HE desires their freedom. I leave you this morning with the words of a song.
FIND US FAITHFUL
We're pilgrims on the journey of the narrow road.
And those who've gone before us line the way.
Cheering on the faithful, encouraging the weary.
Their lives a stirring testament to GOD's sustaining grace.
We're surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses,
Let us run the race not only for the prize.
But as those who've gone before us,
Let us leave to those behind us a heritage of faithfulness
Passed on through GODLY lives.
O may all who come behind us find us faithful.
May the fire of our devotion light their way.
May the footprints that we leave lead them to believe,
And the lives we live inspire them to obey.
O may all who come behind us find us faithful.
After all our hopes and dreams have come and gone,
And our children sift through all we've left behind.
May the clues that they discover and the memories they uncover,
Become the light that leads them to the road we each must find.
O may all who come behind us find us faithful.
May the fire of our devotion light their way.
May the footprints that we leave lead them to believe,
And the lives we live inspire them to obey.
O may all who come behind us find us faithful.
