Sorry for the late response... Here are a few places in T.O (I'm not much of a 'club goer' myself, but I have gone to some of these and got referals from friends on the others)

Fluid Lounge (217 Richmond Street)
This is London (364 Richmond Street)
Bauhaus (31 Mercer Street)
Budo Liquid Theatre (137 Peter Street)
Shmooze (15 Mercer Street) - the guy that owns this place lives in my condo; been there once - nice place 20ish crowd

NOTE: the good thing about clubbing in T.O. is that these clubs are literally next door to one another - just hit the major club streets (King, Richmond, Mercer, Peter) and you will always have a cool place to go to.

If you are in Yorkville (nice posh area just north of the downtown core), you may want to check out:
* The Avenue Bar (Bloor & Avenue - inside the Four Seasons Hotel; this place crawls with Celebs during the Toronto Film Festival; also makes the best Martinis I've ever tasted)
* The Lobby Bar (Bloor Street)

Shopping - head up to Yorkville - hit Bloor (between Yonge and University) and you will find every cool shop in the world there (high-end stores plus Banana Republic, Pottery Barn types). Then head to the side streets north of Bloor to find some very cool shops/unique boutiques and pubs - try Babaluus (sp) if you like Salsa.

Enjoy your trip
