I agree, Elizabeth. One of the goalies I got to be friends with in the minors had a reputation of being an asshole, when in all actuality, he was just a very private person. He didn't take losses well, and therefore wasn't very talkative after bad games. He had a sharp, dry sense of humor (maybe it was his being from Minnesota). I can't remember once, even before we were "involved" that he was ever a jerk to me. (shrug)

Mo was in a great mood, very funny, and seemed interested in what I was saying--he asked what I did, where I was from, etc--and we had a nice conversation about the Mike Modano Foundation. They are building a house to shelter kids and I offered to donate all the books I had as a child, because I obviously don't have a need for them anymore. They're in great condition, considering how old they are. He seemed very tickled that I offered them, and I got a thank you hug (swoon). I'm bringing them this upcoming weekend when I'm in town for the Phoenix game and visiting Zoe.

The point is, they are human just like you and me and they, too, have their bad days. I think it's all in how you approach them, as well.
