Subject: Goodbye Acton (belatedly)

And so goodbye to my life at 21 Gloucester Road.
Goodbye to late night trips to the kebab shop or the dodgy 24-hour shop up the road to procure alcohol and cigarettes. Goodbye to Erkan, Benjamin and all the rest at Chorum Kebab shop. Goodbye to Ramzi at the other kebab shop. Goodbye to Mr and Mrs Patel who would occasionally grant me minor credit. Goodbye to Hamid and the folks at Aladdin who kept me in cheap cigarettes for quite a while. To the folks of the internet cafes of Uxbridge Road, to Siva and the gentlemen across the road at the grocery store.
To Gerry and the staff at the Windmill. To old Mick Rogers (the former pool hustler, getting on in years now but claims to have "rode an eighty year old - she loved it!" To Eddie Byrne and his sons Darren and Jason. To little Darren Stevens. You owe me £4. To Netto and the 11p tins of beans and 18p packets of pasta that saved my life. To Safeway and the vegetable section which saved me from having to buy vegetables at Netto. To the lovely folks at Acton eye Centre.
To Nina and the Manandhar family. To Peter Docherty and his family. To Jon Odgers, Michelle, Caroline, Ricky. To Mark Morriss. (though I'll see all these people again). To shopping trips to Ealing and to drinking ones.
To McDonald, Niall and Rory despite making my life a misery in the house for the last six months with your hostility. I don't hold grudges even if you do.
To the postman. To breaking into Acton Park at 8am for cider and hurling.
To waiting at Acton Central in the cold because I could get away without paying for travel that way.
To Zactonbury.
To Zacton.
To Acton.
Goodbye.

I miss all these things. Especially Benjamin.

I'll always love Zacton.
