Until September 11th, we could always say we have more to fear from established governments than terrorists, although, I think for the most part, that is still true, September 11th being the first and let's hope the last exception.

But let's look at some "governments" that did not arise out of the people or even over the ruling classes of a nation, but were invented by some foreign power.

I'm going to leave out almost the entire continent of Africa, in order to save space and time for now, but the French and British, Dutch and to a smaller section, the Germans and Portugese, did one hell of a job, inventing artificial "nations" where none existed before, overriding traditional tribal boundaries and imposing artificial military dictatorships by the imperial powers that led to home grown military dictatorships in their place like the former Brit army imitator, Idi Amin.

First of all there is "Northern Ireland" invented by act of Briitsh Parliament 1920 and never sanctioned by the people until 1998!

"South" Vietnam invented by the American CIA 1954, not a real country but a cease fire area between the French and Viet Minh, not to be recognized as a real border.

"Israel" invented by the UN.

"Palestine invented by Britian
