RWS, Diana, Model 5G, Luftpistole, .177 cal, single shot, barrel breaking, single stroke cocking, recoiling, air pistol pellet gun. Made in West Germany, “Deutsche Bundespatente” printed on receiver. Rail type scope mount epoxyed to receiver for an extra solid base. Weaver 1” rings. Beeman Blue Ribbon long eye relief duplex air pistol scope (2 x 20) with target adjusting knobs. (Air pistol/rifle scopes are specially made to withstand the extra shock that recoilless air guns produce.) Original sights are unavailable. Wide trigger epoxyed to the stock narrow trigger for better feel. Adjustable two stage match trigger. There is NO SAFETY on this match gun. Target grips with thumb rest. Original wooden grips included. Beeman barrel weight for improved balance. Operating manual from Mayer & Grammelspacher, Dianawerk GmbH & Co. KG, West Germany. The rubber rear end cover is split but unseen and operation is unaffected. Just chronographed at 475 fps (5 shot average) using Beeman hollow point pellets.
I used this pistol to practice my shooting technique for Thompson Contender center fire deer hunting pistols and metal silhouette shooting firearms. It has about a tin of pellets (500) through it. It is in A-1 shape, has been well maintained, shoots great, but of course, is sold as is. Good for plinking, practicing, or small game (such as sparrows that nest in a tile roof). The gun is extremely quiet and accurate. This is not a child’s toy and not meant for pre teens. It is a lethal and sophisticated weapon that could be dangerous with no safety and a lightly adjusted trigger. Just as with firearms ammo, it is best to experiment with different types of pellets available in your area to find out which style groups the best. Flat nose target pellets usually give better target groups while medium weight pointed pellets are best for game to ensure penetration on long shots. Asking $250. Free shipping. garydixon@hotmail.com
