Hi there,

When buying donor sperm from a bank, it comes in 2 methods. IUI prepared, and ICI prepared. ICI prepped means it is raw ejaculate, with all the salts, sugars, and "debris" you would find in natural ejaculate. IUI prepped means it has been washed, eliminated the debris, salts, sugars, leaving only healthy sperm. Home IUI's can be done by a trained Midwife. My Midwife actually taught a family member of mine to perform the IUI on me, as she has done with well over 3 dozen others. Since timing has to be near perfect (IUI prepared sperm only live 8-12 hours once placed in the uterus), I found it near impossible to get a Dr or Midwife to be available when needed. I would call around to local midwives, and ask them. Their prices are better, and the care is better. Supplies can be found at Northerwest Andro and Cryo bank out of Washington state. Good luck!
