Subject: Birmingham Sell Out Gig!!!

Carling Academy Birmingham U.K 13th November 04

What A Gig!

The Beat played one hell of a blinding skanking kiss ass show,in Birmingham tonight,
To a complete sell out house!!!

If ever there was strength in the rumour of yet another ska revival, then I think I’ve
Just witnessed the rebirth.
Mr ranking Roger was on top form, as he belted out hit after hit, accompanied by the ever so tight members of the band.

Matt the Toaster a.k.a Ranking Junior, is definitely moving up the ladder,as he controlled the crowd with the precision of a surgical knife.

Sadly one key member was missing, the great almighty Saxa, but hey, even daddy’s need a night off once in a while.

The highlight of the evening was when Roger dedicated The Tears of a Clown To the late John Peel,
The crowd went wild with rapturous applause.

Hats off also to the sound engineer, as we could hear every instrument and vocal crystal clear.

It looks like the recent tour of Europe has done the lads a big favour, as they’ve bounced back to the U.K in tiptop form.
It won’t be too long before we see a new chart entry, and not before time.. Well done!
