Hey Chris,
I'm more North Wales than mid-Wales and how did I end up here? Hormones I suppose lol The nearest town for reasonable bands is Wrexham but it's a vile place. Two friends of mine(unknown to each other) were mugged and beaten up (one of them was stabbed and both were hospitalised for surgery) the week before last at around 8.30pm on different days by different assailants - it's a nasty, small-minded pit of a place. I'd rather walk through Balsall Heath at 1am on my own than walk through Wrexham at 8pm with friends.

Anyway - enough about the Welsh! This is a proper memory lane trip around Birmingham in the late seventies!! Did you ever go to the Mercat Cross when the local bands (including the Beat of course) were playing? It was a strange time - everybody was in a band in the Moseley area I think. I used to live behind the cricket ground which was easy walking distance to Park Road in Moseley where all the best partying seemed to go on... Oh god, I'm off on one, I'd better stop now lol
