Subject: The Beat ?

The Beat ? Come on ! I went to see the band before Xmas,
and all though they were good,The Beat they are not
(sorry,Roger).

I was a massive Beat fan back in 1980,and I followed all
of their careers with interest, from General Public and
FYC,to the dire solo albums by Roger and Dave.I cannot
believe that 'The Beat' (or Twist & Crawl as I call them)
have became like 'Bad Manners',with playing gigs under
their origional name, but without main origional members.

Okay, the gigs are still good, but please change your name
back to Twist & Crawl, unless you recruit Dave Wakeling
at least. The Beat once played in big venues and are an
influence on the British music scene, but with the new
'Beat' you are playing in pubs ! Come on,Roger, don't spoil
a special thing.Either get a new promoter,or change your
name back to Twist And Crawl.Keep the legend of the real
Beat a legend, instead of becoming a laughing stock like
'Bad Manners'.
