I just watched the show last night - I got my son to his football practice late because I was trying to watch until the end to see if the last two decided to join - I guess they didn't, but I missed the performance of the four that did show up. Man - one of my all time favorite bands - I'm getting my daughter into the 80's/ska/ranking Roger/Dave Wakeling dance!! Loved the band! I saw them twice in Concert - in Wisconsin of all places (early 80's) Saxa didn't tour with them that time - they had some substitute sax player. I remember the second time I saw them, it was at the University of WI - Madison Campus in the Stock Pavillion (otherwise a cow barn!!) I was right up against the stage!! We noticed that all the band members had the same kind of new Nike shoes on that night - we could only imagine what it would have been like to be walking through the mall and see the English Beat shopping for shoes!! At that point - the person who waited on them at the Foot Locker or wherever it was, probably didn't have any idea who they were - and couldn't figure out why this bunch of grown men with English accents were all buying matching shoes!!
