because a lot of people use the forum on a regular basis. it's the easiest place to post up to date news, and forums are always the most frequented part of websites because people don't have to wait for slow updates for something new to read.

why are you going to pay for a website exactly? what kind of big plans do you have for it? 'cos looking at it, no offense but you could do a lot more on a free host, maybe something like netfirms. although i think they might've gone a bit shite.
