i'm not sure how true this is, but i've heard from a guy who actually knows the guy who runs p-rock that he's more than willing to play more obscure and different stuff, but when it comes down to it he can only play what he gets sent. so the lack of any really interesting stuff on p-rock (from my limited experience of watching it it seemed pretty shite) is as much down to labels and bands for not sending their stuff to the station.

then there's always the point that smaller lesser known bands don't have the money or the opportunity to even make videos, let alone get them shown on tv!

i agree that it is a shame that the mainstream media (and by this in include kerrang, the nme, radio 1 etc) completely ignores a lot of music. but then again, i suspect 99% of their readers / viewers / listeners have no interest in, say, converge, and in the end all these media are there with the sole purpose of making money.
