I'm truly amazed at what Britain and America have showed themselves to be in this war. We've always gone on about how advanced we are, how much peace is wanted, and yet weve always tended to kill our own army just as much as we try to kill the 'enemy'.
This is off the point, i know, but in WWI for example, the British army shot more than 268 soldiers for deserting. These were young men, some of them only 15,16 for christs sake, they were scared shitless. This is HUMAN LIFE that they took, who the hell gave them the right? The Russians, alledgedly more 'primitive' than we, stopped shooting their forces after a few months. The Australians shot none.
As my elder sister commented today, "They saying we're so advanced, whats the difference between this war and WWII? Its all tanks, guns and dead bodies." What really has changed? Nothing. What can evolve with war except how strong the hate and weapons are??
Have been really subdued today. You can maybe tell, im normally pretty cheerful. I just hope that the families of the men who've died feel that they've died for something worthwhile. I don't think they have.

An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth? That way, the whole world will become blind and toothless
