Subject: Ethan's "You're right" statement...

I'm just curious as to what everyone thought of that. What he meant by it, what part he was saying that to.

Some of us were lead to believe that what he was saying was agreeing with Gwen that Theresa had no right to through Ivy out because of racial slurs. However, _I_ did not get that out of that scene. I felt more like Ethan was saying "your right" to Gwen accusing Theresa of being unconsionable (sp?) in her actions. Which, if we're to think Luis is being an ass over what he's doing with Antonio, then Ethan feeling Theresa should've treated his mother a little better is *good* behavior, and thus Theresa's behavior was unforgivable. No matter *what* Ivy said, Theresa could've said, "out by morning." And while I'm torn over this as I think Theresa had every right, Ivy is still wheel chair bound and there was a blizzard.

I don't know. I guess we could all interrupt the scenes differently.

Btw... I just love it here. :) (I have to keep saying that! hehe)

Theresa had every right to throw her out but if she didn't want to piss off ethan she probably should have left her stay until the morning.

But then again if it were me I'd want anyone like that out of my space as soon as possible.

And even though ethan is saying "you're right" right now he won't be in the future, sooner or later fate is going to hit him again on the lovely girl that is theresa. :-D

Ivy got what she deserved. She has been nothing but horrible to Theresa every since she found out the letter to the tabloid was from Theresa's computer. And it gets worse everyday. When she pulled EM into it, I was like, WHOA!!!! She went too far.

I was waiting for this day to come. And now that it has, I wonder how long Ethan and Gwen has to stay there. I know it will take Ethan a long time to separate from his TRUE love. He just doesn't know it right now. heh!

And what is up with Fox? One minute he cheers Theresa on, and the next minute he's like, "I've never seen anyone as ruthless as my mother until now." I was like, WTF!!!!! I guess this is what JER was talking about when he said, is Fox friend or foe. Right now it's really hard to tell. But I'm betting FOE!

Oh Dee, did you notice how all of Theresa and Fox's conversations center around Ethan? Every "sad story" Fox tells has to do with Ethan receiving the royal treatment as opposed to Fox receiving shoddy treatment. This is like the third or so story he has told Theresa. About how Ethan was the "Golden Boy" and he was the "Loser Boy". And from what I understand? These stories continue on. I think this is obvious as to Fox's *true* motives.

My question is, will my theory be correct? Will Fox get Theresa into bed when Ethan can prove to be a "callous jerk" as Fox will undoubtly put into Theresa's head, thus allowing Theresa to allow herself to - dare I say - be with Fox and he "loves her and leaves her"? Or will it be something entirely different, but still the basic premise? Fox gets what he wants; hurts what Ethan loves most.

For those reasons I am looking forward to the story. Fox the catalyst will be what shapes E/T. I just hope they *learn* and not stay in the same cycle.

[> My take... -- Voltaire, 21:40:24 01/22/03 Wed (12.81.203.182)

I didn't get the idea from the show that Ethan was saying Theresa was wrong to be upset with Ivy...in fact, he seems to back her in that. He even said that he didn't realize his mother had pushed Theresa into this corner that made her react so harshly...

Enter Gwen.

*rolls eyes*

Gwen can play Ethan better than anyone on this show. Never one to sit when the chips are in her corner, she simply has to turn this into an "I told you so..." moment. Ethan's buttons are pushed left and right and Gwen makes a strong case, because we can't have anyone beliving that maybe Theresa was just tiffed off. No...not good. Theresa sucks. Period.

After her very well spoken diss on Theresa, Ethan of course comes to see it her way and I think he was agreeing basically with Theresa's actions being harsh. He said right after that her actions were inconsciousable he never said "She never should have thrown mommy out!"

And it still seemed that Ethan still had Theresa on his mind before the last scene of Ethan and Gwen getting all cozy...(do all these two have in commom is sex?) because before Gwen came into the room, Ethan looked obviously preoccupied....unless we're to believe it was with thoughts of Ivy.

Of course Ethan has to know better. Theresa has done enough to prove her "goodness". Has died several times. But Ethan also seems to be putty in everyone's hands. However, the way Theresa is going on now, there are times you have to wonder wtf is going on with her.

Was I the only one who got the feeling this may be a setup? Like Dawn said earlier...The tabloid mess and the original plan have suddenly popped up again. It's like Gwen has done everything and won everything now. Not only is Ethan her husband, she's won over Theresa and now Ethan claims to "not ever really known her"...Now that Gwen has Ethan and his doubt in Theresa, a perfect time for a fall for not only Gwen but Ethan when he discovers Gwen sent the email, Gwen blackmailing...Ivy blackmailing and the list goes on. It was like things have come full circle.

Couple of weird moments though...

1. What in the deal with Fox? Didn't you just love how he had to tell us once again that Theresa had no heart? This coming from her new soulmate. Great! The sob stories are clearly putting Ethan on one side and Fox on another and I am sure the more Theresa hangs out with Fox the more believeable he'll become to her. Besides it says that Theresa only gets close to Fox when "Believing she has lost Ethan forever..." It's what she believes, JER doesn't say that it's true though....that Ethan is done with her.

And who can get her to believe Ethan doesn't love her? Apparently Fox...as he seems to be on that path now and from the looks of tomorrow's show.

2. Didn't you just love that now this is Theresa's fault that Grace is now putting up with Ivy. Great Gwen logic....about as much sense as Gwen telling Theresa at her wedding "You're a murderer too! You killed Grace's baby!"

3. What in the hell is with Theresa and the drinking? It's like her twelfth bottle of champagne! And she's always drinking with Fox....

You bring up some great points, but I have to touch on point #3. What is up with that? And this isn't just something we're noticing, a lot of people are. Maybe not all Theresa fans, but certainly those paying attention. It seems almost like Fox is leading her down a disturbing path of destruction.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Theresa became a drunk and Ethan had to save her from herself? Heh. Actually, I do like that theory...sort of.

Personally I think the drinking is just a plot device to get Fox and T all cozy so they can be caught sleeping in the same bed, and obvious foreshadowing in the fact if Theresa can hold her liquor now? How come she couldn't in Bermuda? Hmmm

Interesting point, Ces. And very well could be. I'm sure Ethan will see them and blow his top. If that's what we get out of it, I'm all for it. :)

Personally unless Travis comes back and NotEthan leaves I'm for Foxresa all the way. :)

Hahahaha Dawn. LOL @ Telling Ces to shush.

Okay, I want to talk about this drinking Theresa is doing. You know how the writers are always changing history. Well, I don't think we've seen all there is to be seen with the Bermuda fiasco. I'm sure you guys have thought about this as well.

I'm thinking Theresa was drugged in Bermuda. Maybe by Julian's friend. In fact, I think both Julian and Theresa were drugged or something, becuz Julian is ALWAYS drinking, and he never ever gets drunk. But yet, he bacame so "intoxicated" in Bermuda that he couldn't remember marrying Theresa and sleeping with her. There is so much more to this story that hasn't been revealed yet, and I'm anxiously awaiting revelations.

I *completely* believe that Julian *and* Theresa were drugged. That bottle of champagne that Bruce brought up was the one they drank together, and the one they both become so overly intoxicated by. I could totally see this being another hard-to-see anvil that JER likes to drop, or we think he likes to drop.
