I served in the United States Navy and The United States Army for a total of 8 years during the perion 1974 thru 1982. I have been within 200 yards of a Soviet submarind at sea and have had my ship over flown by Soviet Bombers and recon aircraft. We lived in the assumption that it was a matter of when, not if we would see actual combat.
My comrades and myself should have the same recognition as veterans of Vietnam and other wars for our service.
I support creation of a Cold WAr Service Medal.
