I think you are referring to the reed seats. They are surprisingly small. for the Omegas I had to remove quite abit of the red hemp to get them to seat at all. I tried a set of EZs and would have to remove the plastic collar to get them to seat deep enough. Haven't done that yet because he wasn't willing to buy the reeds from me yet.

That maybe the the problem then! If the drones reeds are extended beyond what they were designed for. You might want to try expand the taper in the bore to accommadate the larger reeds.
