Subject: Practice Chanter Reed Sticking

I'm a beginner using a McCallum chanter with a plastic (synthetic) reed. Often, the reed seems to "stick" and not allow any air to flow through the chanter. It seems to happen more often on a gracenote or a change of note.

I've been told I'm simply blowing too hard, but no matter how light I try to be, it's still happening....any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Andrew
