Subject: Lockapalooza

The Lock 32 Whitewater Course will hold the Second Annual Lockapalooza on Saturday August 19th. Last year's event was a smashing success with 25 participants and 100 spectators and several generous sponsors. This year we'll make the party even bigger and better.
The Lock 32 Whitewater Course has a set of squirt lines, two waves and two holes. The final hole enables lots of vertical moves and is really easy to cartwheel in. The top hole gives up humongous loops (front flips). Best of all, we have consistent water all summer long.

Schedule of Events
11am-1pm-- Kids' Clinic (Open to any kids with WW experience)
2 pm-- Plastic Slalom Race
4 pm-- Boatercross (a mass start mad dash to the finish)
6 pm-- Rodeo (competitors are scored on playboating tricks)
Food from the grill, drink and snacks will be available for a small fee throughout the day. At dark we'll fire up the bonfire and break out the videos. Camping will be available on site.

For those of you who don't know, the Genesee Waterways Center runs the park and teaches kayaking, canoeing, rowing, sculling, outrigger canoeing and forms of human powered transportation. Our main goal is to get people out on the water, especially people who might not otherwise have an opportunity. We have programs for inner city kids, disabled folks and everyone else.

Lock 32 is an artificial whitewater park constructed on a spillway of the Erie Canal. Since this is a private park that leases the site from the NYS Canal Corporation, we need to charge $15 per day to cover insurance and leasing costs. This $15 (or your GWC yearly membership) covers entrance to all of the days competitions.

At dark we'll fire up the bonfire and break out the videos. Please bring your appetite and a beverage of your choice. Free camping will be available on site.
