Subject: Gerbil Catch Wet Tail?

I just had to put my hamster to sleep because she had wet tail and I have recently bought two gerbils just yesterday. I disinfected the dish, water bottle, and wheel that my hamster had and did put it in the new cage with the gerbils. There have only been about two days since my hamster died and I got the new gerbils and I was wondering, is there a threat that my gerbils could get Wet Tail? I disinfected the stuff the hamster used thoroughly and rinsed it really well and let it dry. Then I rinsed the stuff again before I put it in with the gerbils. I just don't want to go through the same pain and problems I had with my hamster. Thanks for any help you can provide!
