An accident has happened to our former teacher and principal, Bro. Gregory, who is living and doing missionary work on an island in a lake in Kenya. He has sent letters to a number of us as well as Bro. Anthony, the principal of SFX College Kowloon, informing about the loss of the boat belonging to the Marist Brothers in Kenya. He also explains that he and his students are in a very desperate situation because the boat is their only means of transport with the outside world.

From information of various sources, we cast no doubt on the accident and that Bro. Gregory definitely and urgently needs assistance.

Old boys at the US, Toronto and Vancouver of Canada have already started collecting donations. For more information about donations at these regions, please refer to http://www.sfxboys.com/BroGregory.htm. The Alumni Committee in Hong Kong has resolved to set up an emergency fund in response to this incident and would appeal for your donations. Please send your cheque payable to "SFX Alumni", marked "Salvage the Boat" together with your name and year of graduation on the back, to:

We hope that we can get US$15,000.00 by the end of March 2003 so that we may wire the sum direct to the Marist Brothers bank account at Kenya as soon as possible. In case we can collect more than our target sum, we shall set the balance aside in special fund to cater for any emergency need for the Brothers in future. So let's do something for the Brothers now.
