Subject: HP Test Pilot

My father (82 years young) was in the RAF 1941 - 1967, a navigator/master signaller. he finished his days "down the hole" at Patrington, East Yorkshire. He has asked me to try and trace an old oppo, - E.R 'Ted' Gordon, who was with the Canadian Air Force. They met, I believe, during the Berlin Airlift, and last bumped into each other in Aden, in '64. Ted was with Squadron 114 at Kabrit, and after the forces he bacame a test pilot with Handley Page. My father (also Vince....) has tried the usual routes, pension fund etc, but ends up getting the run around from clerks at British Aerospace. Ted hailed from British Colombia, Dad thinks that, if he is still alive, he is likely to be in Canada. I have tried Gordons listed on the 'phone in BC, but with no luck. If you have any information, it woud be most gratefully received.

Very best regards

Vince Gavin

Dear Jean Claude, merci pour votre response. And yes, Dad was stationed in and around Abingdon in 1950. Please let me know this interesting stuff....... and I will do my very best to put the two of you in touch.

Some questions (if you don't mind)?...
Where were you based?
What unit were you with?
How on earth do you remember that name from 55 years ago (I'm impressed, I will need to learn that trick...)
Once again, thanks for replying, and
Very best regards.
Vince Gavin (fairly junior)...
