Anyone from the Air Radar Section at Seletar from 1955 to 1957 ?
I remember Chico Holt, Jock ?, Taffy Thomas, Roy ?.Would like to hear from anyone from that era. I live in the States now but make fairly frequent visits to UK.I'll be there this year from Sept 6 to the 13th.

Hi Harry,

Nice a hear you are still around even if in the States.

I returned to good old Lincolnshire and have only strayed far for holidays.

Remember those far off days at Seletar with affection.

Jock's surname was Reid.

I also rermember Johnny Hogan, Butch Butcher, John Blake, Jock Inglis, Johnny Haywood, Bob Leggot, Johnny Goodyer etc.

Do you remember Mike Hatterly, he was a wireless mech. a little behind us. I am in contact with him via email. We are both members of the Seletar Association.

Have also been in contact with Ron Williams. He was W/Op on the high speed launch 2750. The marine craft boys billeted in the room next to us on the top floor of F Block.

I don't know if you remember but I worked most of my time at Seletar as the wireless fitter on the Marine Craft Section and had my test rig in the radar section. Remember Carol? I bet you do!

Best wishes,

Mick Blakey

Mick, when were you at Seletar? I should have added that I was on 205/209 Kipper Fleet the whole of 1958, am in touch with 20 from that period but none from Air Radar.

Hi John,

Affirmative. I was a member of Radio Serving Flight of ASF (Flying boats) as a Junior Tech. air wireless fitter from Feb 1956 to March 1957 working on Sunderlands in the hanger initially and then for the last nine months I was the wireless fitter on the marine craft section.

Billeted top floor of F block, next but one bed to Harry Mallinson who I see now lives in the USA. Would love to hear from him.

I am also in contact with a wireless mech who was there at the same time, also the W/Op from TTL 2750.

The world gets smaller and smaller!!!!

There was recent talk in staging another 205/209 Squadron reunion, 19 of us were able to crawl over the Sunderland exhibition at Duxford in October 2002, anyone thinking about it lets have your suggestions here..............
