Hi, This is Joyce again, sister to Ron Holt 81 Squadron, Seletar 1955-58. I Have a few names here that were at Seletar at the same time and may be able to solve the mystery of why Ron was nicknamed "chico". Hi Joyce,

I don't think the guys you named can help you. As you may know, before he went to work on 81 Sqn he was in the Radio Servicing Flight working on the Sunderland Flying Boats and it was during this time that he got the nickname.
I worked with him in RSF but we are all sworn to secrecy so I am unable to help you, just let it be said that as a bunch of very young lads in a marvellous city like Singapore we enjoyed it's many delights!!
Nice to make contact with you. How is the weather in Spain? Here in the UK it is awful at the moment, high winds and now getting cold.
