I know there's been talk all over the net for years that we ban people who disagree with my friends or myself, but it's simply not true, & is usually spread around by people who we HAD TO ban, or the few friends they have.

People who can't discuss things intelligently without arguing, fighting, flaming, or using plenty of foul language, or simply can't or won't try to get along with others, get a warning to calm down. But people like that usually attack & fight with my friends or myself after we give them a warning... then we ban & delete them.

A good controversy & heated discussion draws visitors & encourages people to post something. It gives people something to read or do when they're bored. It's entertainment. I was a little disappointed there were hardly any opposing viewpoints.

Banning is a last resort for when people go too far, & piss off a lot of people. It's not a good idea either. When we ban somebody, because of how we do it, by the subnet, source location, & keywords, we can accidentally ban someone else from the same area using the same ip. It's happened before.

When that happens, I have to go through a long process of compairing the 2 sources & look at their O.S., browser, & screen resolutions, to see the differences, & manually type the differences in so the autobot knows the differences... like it's a different computer as the banned person's. The board's program & my modifications can't do that. The autobot can, but isn't "in" the boards, it's at home, & has to be activated manually after I log into a site.

So the easy way is not to ban if we don't really have to, but I won't hesitate if it's needed.

Even in the outside world, I get along famously with people with people I disagree with... even the ones I can't stand.

I was quoted on CNN Sunday morning (in text only, not from this board...they used my real name), & my face gets on at least 1 of the local news broadcasts at least once a month. My boss (the famous one), my landlord (the judge), & myself were each asked to run for mayor (but I was their last choice), so I have to behave myself (we all declined to run...didn't want the job, so nobody ran against the current mayor).

There's evil, wicked people everywhere. There's probably at least 1 truly wicked person on your block. Where do we draw the line? How bad is too bad or not-so-bad? Almost all of us have done bad things, as a kid, burnt a bug with a magnifying glass, lied to mom or dad. As an adult, lied to a cop that pulled you over for that dead tail light, or told someone a lie because the truth is none of their business.

If we bomb, kill or imprison everyone who ever did something bad on the planet, there'd be less than 1,000 people left.

I've never been called mistaken... just having a different viewpoint. I tend to look far ahead, not short term. In short, I disagree with this war because of it's long-term outcome, & it won't help our standing or reputation in world-wide politics, or economy... And after the war, we'll have to deal with 100 Bin Ladins instead of just 1.

I may be mistaken though... Bush may know exactly what he's doing, but I still don't like what he's doing. Sometimes I see the future more clearly than others, & don't like what I see.

I don't watch 1 channel for the news, or read 1 paper, but many. What I can't get on the net or cable or in the papers, I can get from all over the world on my communications receivers. I have a ham radio license, so I can talk back too. This weekend I even talked to a couple of ham radio operators who happen to be our troops in the mid-east.I helped relay some personal voice messages to their families.
I got the pics, thank you. I viewed them on my MSNTV on a Sony Wega 480x650. I fowarded them to the computer & will view them in 1600x1200 resolution later. Maybe I can clean up 1 or 2 of them for the temp. gallery (sharpen, brighten, etc.). Boy was I surprised. I don't read each & every post, but from I've read of yours, I always thought you were much younger than me, but it turns out we're probably close to the same age. I usually come to Betty boards trying to think we're all little girls here.

Did you see any of my recent pics I posted? If not, I can send some in return.

Peace, love, & spankings,
-Betty-
