Try some other brands! They are not all alike. Gel that you use over acrylics is meant to be a glossy top coat only, and will not hold up well on it's own regardless of how thick you apply it. You need a good quality gel meant to be used on the natural nail (rather than over acrylics) to achieve good results. Gel used to build nails will NOT apply like nail polish.
