Whats the problem with our (US) tax system
The problem with our federal income tax system is that not everyone contributes. For example, drug dealers. Do you know any drug dealers that fill out a tax return? I dont. They make huge sums of cash every day and never pay a dime of income tax on it. Meanwhile, the rest of the population toils away at legitimate jobs, but only takes home portion of the pay they earn. Just imagine how much bigger our countrys available tax revenue would be if everyone were really contributing.
So whats the solution?
Eliminate the Federal Income Tax Return system and replace it with a Federal sales tax on luxury items. Anyone who can afford to buy items like cars, boats, yachts, homes, jewelry, etc., should be paying into the tax base, and that includes drug dealers and members of organized crime.
This solution, however, would put many of the IRS workers out of a job, since there would not be a need for all those tax return processors. So what do we do for them?
We create a single, universal national health care plan that would cover anyone who needs it (which we could afford now once we are generating more tax revenue from those not contributing previously). Then we retrain those displaced workers to administer the health plan.
