Definitely the writers, in their refusal to write a new angle for T&B as a couple, have outright killed their appeal. Even as a T&B fan I can tell you I am not up for the same story that I just watched for 2 years. It's the SAME story! When Kassie said in her post that just because T&B have decided to divorce does not mean there won't be some "great" T&B scenes, my honest reaction (and remember, I'm a T&B fan) was dread. Why? Because I know exactly what these scenes will consist of. I just watched them non-stop for 2 years. They will consist of T&B screaming and insulting each other at the top of their lungs. Blair telling Todd she hates him, Todd telling Blair she's a bitch and a slut. Both telilng the other to leave them alone and then in their actions, showing (like Blair did the other day when she showed at his house) that they cannot leave each other alone.

I can't stand John and do not want Blair paired with him, but aside from that, I already know her relationship with him will be a sham - just like her relationship with Spencer was a sham, her relationship with Sam was a sham, her relationship with Cris was a sham. I also know that Todd will throw a public fit when he finds out John and Blair are together. I know that at some point, T&B will have anger sex, after which they will tell each other they still hate each other.

I am not up for another 2 years of this. I honestly thought that THIS TIME, the writers would make an effort to show T&B in a new light -- either as a team fighting a common enemy, on some kind of adventure, or, even a different angle on their breakup - like some medical reason that they'd be torn apart. In other words, something DIFFERENT! What a fool I was to even hope for this.

TPTB know how popular & beloved TnB are as a couple/family and characters, so they know via the tumultuous T&B history that the fans stick with them for better or worse. If the show needs to be shaken up to rally viewer response, they put the "T&B Rollercoaster Ride/Mating Dance" back into action.
