When Blair first came on the show, the story was that Addie was raped when she was a mental patient by an Asian man (forgive me for not remembering the specific nationality), and that explained why Blair was half-caucasian and half-Asian.

Obviously when they re-cast Blair with Kassie DePaiva, she was no longer half-Asian. I understand that soap operas tend to change stories around, but if memory serves correctly, Addie was either raped by another patient, or by someone working at the mental hospital where Addie lived.

Part of Blair's resentment toward Dorian was based on the fact that she was told that Dorian treated Addie badly, when in fact, Addie abused Dorian. Addie was shuffled between mental hospitals, and Blair was shuffled between foster homes.

I thought when they first brought Blair on the show that they would eventually go into more details about who her father is. It would be interesting now if Rex helped her find her father. But, if he is a "rapist" as we were led to believe early on, it might not be the reunion everyone wants to see.

I know that Addie had told Blair that Dori used to abuse her, and when the revelation hit that Addie was the abuser- it shocked Blair. But I want to say that Blair had either been told by her mother or by foster parents about Addie having been raped. I want to say it was either a patient or someone that worked at the facility ... but gosh- it's been SO long since I saw it. Believe it or not- I used to have tapes of a lot of the old shows. But- I don't think I have any on tape pre-Kassie.
