Subject: Thanks for summarizing, but it sounds like the same ole same ole story to me. Another T&B breakup so soon after they finally reunited after a year of slow building? I'm very disappointed that Ron couldn't be more original and figure out a way to give both these character fresh stories - both independently and together. Instead he's just continuing the same old cycle. What a shame. I'm sorry I hung on so long for the reunion. I didn't think it would be so short-lived.

[> [> [> It's not just T&B, although that's part of it because I love them and was looking forward to a DIFFERENT kind of story for them THIS TIME. It's more the fact that we seem to be in for the same exact kind of story that we got after the execution and after Blair's miscarriage last year. The SAME STORY! The SAME CYCLE! AGAIN! To me, that's the biggest let down of them all. -- Cathy, 06:36:54 05/18/08 Sun

I can already predict that T&B will spend the next however many months or year fighting over the kids, using them as weapons, hating on each other. Blair will undoubtedly sleep with the next man who is nice to her be that John, Cain, Ramsey, or all three. Todd will probably get up on the bar at Capricorn and call Blair liar, slut, whore, and a host of other names. He'll print falsities about her in the paper and take the club away from her somehow. He'll probably team up with Tina to destroy Blair's life. Starr will miscarry and she and Blair will blame it on Todd. Then Todd will kidnap Jack. Then one of them (Todd or Blair) will be in a terrible accident, and the other will sit vigil bedside saying they didn't mean any of the stuff they said. Then, when said person recovers, they'll go right back to hating. THEN, after over a year of all this, they will admit their love and reunite. And less than 4 months later, the entire cycle will start again.

[> [> [> [> I think with smart writing, change could be a very good thing for Blair, and lead to new material for Kassie to work with. I have faith in Ron Carlivati especially when it comes to Blair. He has proven that he wants a strong Blair with a brain and a backbone, and that makes me feel good in terms of what is ahead for Blair. Overall, OLTL has not been this good as a whole in years, and he has really made OLTL the best soap on daytime now. -- lucy, 07:46:50 05/18/08 Sun

[> [> [> [> [> I agree with you that strong feisty Blair is a good thing, but I'm not sure what you mean by change. Certainly you don't expect Blair to be out of Todd's life just because they are getting their millionth divorce? I have plenty of predictions about what will happen in Blair's life over the next few months, and none of it involves anything we didn't just see for the past 2 years. -- Cathy, 08:48:55 05/18/08 Sun

[> [> [> [> [> [> In terms of change, I meant that Blair will be in charge of her own life, and her focus will be on herself and her kids. Over the last few years, Blair has always been living her life for some man whether it was for Max, Sam, Spencer, or Todd. She really had no life of her own, and as for someone like me who just loved Blair and not her men, it got kinda of boring after awhile. I think now Blair will finally do her own thing. I can not help, but feel hopeful about Blair's future, and that's thanks to Ron Carlivati. He has been the best thing to happen to Blair and OLTL in years. -- lucy, 09:42:54 05/18/08 Sun

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> I understand where you're coming from, lucy. I admire your optimism (although currently I do not share it) that Blair will "do her own thing." I had a couple of ideas for stories that I wanted to see for Blair (click) -- Cathy, 10:30:31 05/18/08 Sun

And I truly thought they could be told simeltaneously with her being married (and happy) with Todd and her children. Some of my hopes included Blair embarking on a search for her father and/or Blair somehow being disfigured (losing her looks) in a fire, accident, whatever - because I feel that Blair has always depended on her "prettiness" if you will to navigate her way through life. I thought it would be interesting (and great material for Kassie) to see how Blair might deal with the tragedy of her physical beauty being taken away. Those were just two thoughts I had, but certainly I believe there are numerous "creative" storyline possibilities for Blair.

Unfortunately, now that I read the spoilers about T&B's marriage breaking up, I feel that instead of getting something different, Blair (and Todd for that matter) as a character will surely be plunged back into the same pattern of story we've seen over and over and over again. My predictions for the immediate future include Todd holding Blair "hostage" in the marriage because of his fear of losing Sam for good, Todd terrorizing her any way he can, teaming with Tina to wreck her life, kidnapping Jack, etc. In turn, I see Blair sleeping with another man (John, Cain, someone else?) just to spite Todd, etc. You get the drift. No chance for independent or different story for either of them now because they'll be too busy hating on each other in every scene. Didn't I just watch this?

I think it would have been better for Blair storywise if RC hadn't gone the same ole route with breaking her and Todd up yet again -- and so soon. I would have liked to have seen them stay together, deal with problems together, and perhaps get independent storylines at the same time. But now that it seems like RC is imploding them a mere 4 months after they reunited, I see nothing but more "Todd terror" for Blair until they ultimately reunite again and start the cycle over.

If Todd is insane now, he'll be really insane once Blair throws him out of their family and out of her life. I envision them in nearly every scene together - fighting, calling each other whore and bastard, threatening each other, using the kids as weapons, etc. Not something I wanted to see - cause I've already seen it -- 100 times.
