Subject: charcoal stater

Made a charcoal stater from a 8" stove pipe today,worked great but...I filled it with lump and lit it,after about 10 minutes it was flam'in so I put it in the coal pan of the ECB.Well it ran at 225 for 2 hrs. and then it fell back below 200.(BTW this gave me almost a full pan of coals).It was then I realized that I had lit everything at once instead of about a 1/3 like I usually do.I think this might work better with briquett's than lump, or maybe next time I'll only light half a load.Any how,got this mod from another site but, it's a keeper.Good Q'n,Bigj.
