Ron,

I smoke all year long, and I especially look forward to the winter as a great time to practice. I primarily use a WSM as well and really it's not such a big deal. It's not 100% weather impervious like a ceramic, but I've found with a few adjustments it can handle the cold weather just fine. High winds can be a pain, but my house seems to be positioned just right that I can avoid the wind by moving the cooker to different parts of the back deck. I've also seen guys make a three-sided windbreak from a sheet of plywood, and Kelly from the LNR team told me he just makes a big snowbank around it.

Bottom line....Get that bullet out and start smokin'!
