hey afternoon Gerry, thats a good question you asked. each cooker has its ups and downs. not really sure what the BGE is worth but i know the WSM is $325 tax in. as you know i have a WSM and cook on it year round but sometime in the winters it uses more fuel than a BGE would. with a BGE you can get super high heats for doing steaks and so on that you cant get with the WSM. down falls are the price, its extemely heavy, they are fragile and have some design flaws. with the WSM you can also grill and/or smoke, they are light and easy to transport. you can get very long burns with either cooker. i found the price the most important factor for me so i ended up with the WSM and definately don't regret the purchase.
