Earl,

Thanks for posting, but just a small error on the ribs. Should actually read:

1st - Swine Fellows
2nd - Happy Grillmore
3rd - What Have You Been Smokin'?

On behalf of the whole team, I want to congratulate all of the competitors that decided to come out this weekend. We enjoyed meeting all of you, especially those that were first-timers. We hope to see you come back.

After closer examination of the detailed scores, I think it must have been a very difficult job for the judges at this event. A close competition was enjoyed by all, with minute fractions of points separating teams in some cases, and a dead-even tie for second place overall. I look forward to seeing where this level of competition is taking all of us as we collectively gain more experience.

There is also something that I want to say as well. I already stated this in a private conversation with Scotty, but I wanted to say it publicly as well. Given the changes and turmoil in the CBSA over the last six months or so, I admit that I arrived in Paris on Friday not knowing what to expect. From the moment I first met with Scotty upon arrival and throughout the weekend, it was apparent to me that he is genuine and sincere in his efforts to behave professionally, rise above the muck, concentrate on new business and leave the past in the past. Upon reflection I would have to consider myself a very small person indeed if I cannot make the same effort.

Now that I'm done with my sappy diatribe, Scotty and his team did a top-notch job for their first time at event organizing. Newbie glitches aside it was was run professionally and with the right balance of friendly competition and good old-fashioned fun. I am very happy we decided to attend and look forward to supporting the Summerfest event in July.
