Subject: Smoker mods

I recently found the CBSA site and am glad that Canadian Q'ers have a place to meet. I bought a New Braunfels Black Diamond last year and plan to make a few mods on it. The site www.bbq-porch.org/faq/07-2-2.asp has some interesting suggestions. The heat deflector at the opening between fire box and the cooking chamber makes sense. Some of the other mods such as adding more heat deflectors across the bottom, lowering the smoke stack, increasing the smoke stack diameter to 4" seem like a lot of work. I would like the opinion of anyone who has done any mods like this before I start. Any other suggestions for mods would be welcome. Thanks!
