Reg: Here is the rule as spelled out from KCBS rule book:

"Garnish is limited to leaves of green lettuce (no kale, endive, or red-tipped lettuce). and/or common curly parsley, flat leaf parsley, or cilantro.. Any entry not complying with this rule will be given a one (1) on appearance."

From that I would interpret that Boston leaf lettuce is okay, and romaine should be alright as it is a flat green leaf lettuce, which we questioned on Saturday. I guess our best bet for this occasion though is better safe than sorry, unless of course there is a variety of lettuce that you are particularly attached to...LOL
