Subject: Bruce: You did the CBSA Proud!

Bruce and All:
As you know, the Brantford BBQ Battle took place this weekend as part of their annual Summerfest in Victoria Park. It is put on by the Brantford Kiwanis Club. From the comments we heard, just as a team participating in the event, the Kiwanians were extremly please with the organization of the event this year and it went off very well in the 'Masters' category (there is a Backyard Warrior' category going today that this team was just too zonked to stay around for!). Bruce Jacobson represented our association in a pronounced and professional way; there was no shortage of signage, literature, wearing apparel and identifying badges for the directors, members and judges from the CBSA. There were a few computer gliches that affected the scoring, which largely concerned our Hi! I Que! team. However, rather than looking at it as a negative thing, it has to be viewed as one of the 'growing pains' that will ultimately help the CBSA in the coming years as a sanctioning body. Bruce was very open in explaining the problem and it was rectified immediately. For the Brantford BBQ Battle to go as smoothly as it did, under the sanction of the CBSA, an association still in its first year of life, is a direct result of the tireless efforts of Bruce Jacobson. I'm certain I speak for the rest of Hi! I Que!, the other teams, the other Board members and the Association populus at large, when I say, "Thanks Bruce!"
