I have a 16 year old Junior that is college bound but is struggling with math. He is dyslexic and has attention deficit. I have had him tested recently and he score in the 98%ile for math reasoning and in the 58%ile for basic calculations. He is currently taking Algebra 2/trigonometry and can figure the problems out in his head and get the correct answer most of the time but is required to show his work. This is where the problem is: he gets lost on the paper and has poor attention to detail. For spelling being able to use the computer so that he did not have to think about how the letters were formed made all the difference in the world and I feel that being able to type in equations and work them on the computer would be a big help for math as well. Has anyone had experience with this problem and had success in dealing with it? Is there software available that will allow him to input and do the work on the computer without having to learn all the idiosyncrasies of excel or other such programs? We would greatly appreciate any help you can give us, Thanks!
