Elaine I play many string instruments like guitar, mandolin, as well as piano and harmonicas. From an the 2nd grade I have had an undiagnosed thyriod being low.I am 49 years old now and finaly went on synthroid meds less than two years ago. After being on all types of Psychiatric meds since 1978 plus wasting my time as well as my money on shrinks and psychologist I finally found my problem "hallelujah "!!!
A low thyroid had caused my hands to be stiff and I could not get my rhythm correct plus causing depression with much anxiety which went away with thyroid meds. However I am dyslexic but am two classes away from a degree I computers. With all that off my chest I will glad to answer your qestions and help you out.I always new I had a gift for music, but had been under a cloud of incompetence though not on my part.
