In reply to: Paige 's message, "[.theres.nothing.but.time.now.]" on 01:40:34 02/12/04 Thu

At the approaching figure of walking death, Ruffio pushed his legs from under him to lift into a standing position. The brindled dog lowered his rigid body into a crouch. Head down, ears pressed firmly back, and canines flashing deviously; he watched the human further approach. The kind words were flooded away by the rushing water that still filled his ears. One human had wished death upon him, how could he be sure this one would be any different? They always promised not to hurt you, then next thing you know.. As the woman stopped, he gave his tail a menacing flick and released a ruthless growl.

She sighed, reached in her pocket and pulled out a small dog treat. Bending over, which was becoming slightly more uncomferatable to do, as she was pregnant and begining to show, she quickly shoved it under the tiny slot under the door of the kennel. She stood in an upright position and looked at the dog again, waiting for his response. She hummed softly to herself as she did so. The next step was up to him.

Ruffio lowered his dark auburn orbs, studying the treat with care and percision. Perhaps it was drugged; just another trick to get him into the ring or worse.. A low growl was emerced and the dog gave her a curious glance, suprised look smoothered under a low pithced growl. Slowly he took a step foreward. Than another. Muscles rippled under brindle pelt, color dancing vibrantly from the surface as dim light reflected from it. He lowered his powerful haunches, bunching underneath him, to increase the firm stance he heald within a crouch. A warning growl was given.

She sighed, and quickly to a step back. This process was going to be a long and hard one, simply because the dog wouldn't budge. She sat upon the floor, about 5 feet away from the dogs kennel. She was now lower than the dog, putting herself in a vulnerable position especially as she was pregnant. She continued to hum softly, not making direct eye contact, for to this dog, it would mean a challenge, so instead she looked right above him, waiting for him to call himself.

Curiousity flooded the dog's mind as the brindle hue took a careful step closer. Perhaps this human meant no harm.. But he couldn't bring himself around to trust. Could he? Confusion flooded. Eyes softened and he took a cautious movement foreward. Lack of eye contact, harsh words, and blows accross the head helped to back up his previous thought. Intentions still unclear, the male didn't approach too fastly. Head was lowered as his legs bent, pulling him another step closer. The distance had closed now, hardly two feet apart from the human.

She watched with careful amber orbs, they danced over the dog with slight joy at the progress they were making. As the dog got to about two feet away, the only thing sperating them was the door. "Good boy." She murmmerd, sliding another doggie treat under the door.

[sorry for the delay..I've had alot going on]

Eyes of dark hue watched the treat being slid under the door frame. His first instinct was to lash at the fingers as they emerged on his side, enjoying the sensation of his canine fangs sinking into flesh; but the temptation was fought down as he slowly moved toward the door. He was at the front now, less that eight inches from the human. Too unsure to take his eyes off her, the male lowered his head, eyes still glued to Paige, to pick up the treat between his teeth.

She smiled inwardly and cooed softly at this acomplishment. "Good boy, good boy." She repeated, setteling herself upon the ground once more. There she stayed, not one movement was made, she continued to coo softly singing childish lullabies. It was all she could think of because at the time inside her grew a small child. She watched the dog, but never made direct eye contact, she'd give him some more time to calm down and loosen up.
