In elementary school, we wer taught "The Learners Creed". It was a pretty little poem that brainwashed us with the idea of how perfect students were expected to act. There is a similar and more straight-forward slogan that the protagonist Equality ,as well as the rest of his counterparts, abide by.

"We are nothing. Mankind is all. By the grace of our brothers are we allowed our lives. We exist through, by and for our brothers who are the State. Amen.". This statement is a clear definition of how Equality's society functions. It clearly states that all of it citizens owe their life to the House of Scholars.

The phrase above relates to "The Learners Creed" because they both express what is expected of the people who are governed by these mantras.
