This is hopefully going to become a common posting on Maelstrom, a listing of ten helpful sites for writers on the net...later, will also include publishers, contests and other news on the industry, posted weekly. 1. www.wavetech.net/~emmah/eroticmind A site for erotica and steamier romance. Includes a workshop for writers of this genre called, "Steaming up Your Love Scenes."

2. www.zott.com/mysforum/default.html The Mystery Writer's Forum. A threaded discussion group designed for aspiring and published writers in the mystery genre to trade info on the publishing industry as well as to trade writing tips.

3. www.inkslingers8m.com An excellent site covering many genres...just started in December, but has already amassed quite a bit of talent. Inkslingers has message boards, informative articles, a chat and more.

4. www.authorlink.com is a Random House Affiliate site. Authorlink is a new way for editors and literary agents to discover ready-to-publish, evaluated manuscripts. Free industry news updated twice monthly. Also evaluates, showcases and aggressively markets ready-to-publish manuscripts to editors and agents.

5. www.pw.org Poet and Writers Online homepage is a well designed onine companion to Poet and Writers Magazine.

6. www.geocities.com/SoHo/Lofts/1498/cirdefaq.htm The Inner Circle...a place to meet writers worldwide to share writing tips and techniques.

7. www.jbwb.co.uk/ The Jacqui Bennet Writers Bureau. Helps fiction writers, offering professional critiques and advisory services for all genres.

8. www.members.redrival.com/mikeyal/ Raven Wolf, a site dedicated to "the preservation of writing and art." They are presently looking for new writers, but I put this up mainly because I liked the design.

9. www.writerspage.com StoryCraft Writing Software was the internet's first automated fiction writing tool.

10. www.members.aol.com/spillcandy/ Spilled Candy is a free weekly ezine for self-promoting writers. Teaches guerilla marketing techniques.
