After I finished watching the video Alex Haley’s ROOTS; I was inspired to say the least. I began to wonder how I became the Red-Neck bigot that I was. So I thought as not to stay ignorant the rest of my life and be unsociable to our Black Americans, I would do some research on my own.
After many hours of studding and running leads on the slaves of Africa, I was surprised to find out the black slaves were taken from different parts of Africa. This is why there couture is so different.
As my Knowledge grew in black history I found out there were only three (3) major tribes that was actually brought to America. There were the Motea’s, Disdeline’s and the Monback’s. As the sailing ships landed some in the north and some in the south. Most of the Motea’s were northern blacks and quickly found jobs of employment in café and restaurants. You can see then running from table to table with a pitcher saying. “Mo tea, Mo tea.” These were from the tribes of the Motea’s.
As I fond out the Disdeline’s migrated both north and south and you can see them most any day down at the welfare office running around from line to line saying “is disdeline? Is disdeline?” Of course these blacks were from the tribe of the Disdeline’s.
Now the Monbacks were sold off in the south ports, as Mobile and New Orleans. They seem to get very little education and did the best they could. But none the less you can see and hear the Monbacks standing behind the garbage trucks yelling at the driver, monback, monback.
