Rodger, there are many people all over this planet who have, and/or have had. religious experiences. They know that God and/or other spirits exist, and they have 2-way communications with them.
..... But there are also many others who never had such experiences, and who therefore quite honestly think/say that (for them) there is no God. These may be atheists or agnostics. Many of those may believe that what is in the many books the bible consists of, is actual history, and they keep paying to clergy a lot of money. Therefore clergy have a vested interest for members to sin as often as possible, because sinners try to bribe God to forgive them their past, current and future sins.
..... Very many pray to God or to some Saints, but they cannot expect God to do something for them that they want unless they always do what God wants them to do, and NOT do what God does NOT wants them to do.
