Atheists have not yet had a religious experience, and they quite truthfully say that (for them) there is no God, Allah, or other deity.
..... But there are many others who, from their own experience KNOW that we are not alone, that there is something or somebody out there who could, and does, help us if we deserve it. The many religions/belief systems try to "explain" and/or "interpret" these experiences, and there is a lot of religion-fiction about, possibly designed to maximize the money donations per week to clergy.
