Ok, for all of you religious folk out there I have some things to clear up. It is all to often that when someone hears the word "athiest" people alwase have a steriotype of bad people denouncing god every chance they get. Well I am not sorry to say you are wrong. First let us disect the word that is athiest you have the letter "a" and the word "theist". Alright off to a good start so far. The word theist is anyone who belives in god, gods, goddeses any sort of higher being. When you throw the A in there It means just what it is supposed to mean the opposite of whatever word it is attached to. So an athiest is someone for whatever reason does not belive in god. I am sure you gatherd that much before reading my little rant. However what most of you fail to see is that atheist have reasons for becoming a non beliver. They are different reasons across the board. For myself it was a mixture of an overbearing bible beating mother, and a very understanding father who told me not to accept things just because he does. Which I an eternally gratefull to my father for haveing the cougage to let his son figure things out on his own. If you took the time to talk to an atheist you would probably be interested. It is in every human mind to question and to challenge, it is up to you wether you do it or not. You can go allong with what millions belive or you can stop for a minuet and examine your so called faith. And could someone tell me why you religious types are alwase trying to scare us with you lake of fire and the threat of eternal damnation. Do you really think we care or are the least bit worred, if we where we would not be atheist. I just want to meet one christian who can give me solid evidence of a higher power. Do that and I will shut up, and dont even try to use that sloppily prepared book of nonsense the bible. It is such a pathetic peice of litterature. Full of contradictions spaced just far enough apart that you dont notice. Written by man, who is I am proud to say a very flawed mammal. Honestly you people read the bible never in its entierty, instead you pick and pluck whatever passages fit your needs. Oh, but it is gods writings! Well stike me down all mighty god thou perfect being sitting on your thrown of lies and decite. Toying with the human race whenever you see fit. If your god actually does exist I would rather burn in your "hell" an imaginary place used to scare children. Than to serve a being as petty and cruel as your GOD. God loves the children and yet god struck the child of King David to "punish" David for the sin of adultery. However the never to be questiond "god" said that no child shall be punished for the sins of his father nor shall any father be punished for the sins of his son. Well darn, I guess god can make exeptions to his own rules. But we sure as hell cant bend a single word of his teachings of we will go to HELL. Well...gosh, when things like that come up how can any rational person belive in god or any god for that matter. You may be whispering the whispy word "faith". Well let me ask you a question, you so called belivers. What is that faith baised on? Do you just wake up one day and find it sitting by your bed? Is it passed down from your parents? You tell me because my mom tried like hell to pass down faith. All that I ever revieved was a headache and beatings when I did not bend to her or gods will. I feel so sorry for all of you belivers, you live your life in fear of a god that you will never see. You go day by day devoting your life to the teachings of a book that has been compiled buy thousands of diffent people all throwing their own personal spin on it. You all exist with one common goal, to go to heaven and be beside your god forever. Well let me leave you with a question that has stumped every christian, catholic, prodestant, any person of any denomination. What will you do if when you die there is no god. What will your so called soul do it there is no white lite to recieve it. If it where me I would be pissed that I spent my entire life devoted to nothing, searving a god that exist only on paper and the incoherant ramblings of tv pastors. So there you have one atheist opinion on god and religion as it stands. If I where you I would sit down and think very carefully about why you belive in god. Belive me when I tell you I have sat and thought very carefully before ever calling myself an atheist. It was an informed decicion, not a some wishy washy religion that my parents preprogramed into my head. I had to think long and hard about not beliving god because it is a scary thing. It is not easy to let go of a crutch that you have been leaning on for so long. It is not simple to pull back the blanket of religion to face the cold reality of this world with nothing but the power of your own mind to protect you. Belive me when I say it is not easy and I have met very strong criticism for it. It is not simple or easy but it is every human beings nature to question. It is our right to stand up and stand alone, seprate from the massive crowd. It is your right, it is within all of us. The only question that remains is..... CAN YOU, WILL YOU QUESTION "GOD"
