...is it always xians v atheists? there are billions of religious folk who are not xians.
they're all wrong of course ;->
simply, nothing i see in the observable universe even INDICATES, much less proves, the existence of a sentient, omnipotent force; or the involvement of any such force in the inception, existence, and possible future of our cosmos.
i'm an immovable skeptic, tho. although the "big bang" is mathematically provable, i don't believe it was the beginning of anything. just as our planet is an insignificant part of an insignificant solar system in an insignificant galaxy in the universe; i believe there is more than universe; that ours is only an insignificant part of a vastly larger "megaverse"(for lack of a better term) where googles of big bangs have occurred(are occurring, will occur) over inconceivable distances and over time frames that make our view of infinity seem tiny.
but i don't believe ANY of it, or anything in it, was created by "god". random cause and effect, restricted only by the laws of physics is what makes the universe, and makes it "turn".
there's no such thing as "supernatural" phenomena.
i'm not saying there aren't things in the world, and the universe it exists in, that we can't explain. of course they are. but given enough time, they WILL be explained as natural occurrences that we simply have no explanation for at this time. and the explanation will have absolutely nothing to do with "god".
future versions of ourselves will giggle at our ascribing these things to supernatural causes, just as we giggle at the folks in our history who balked at walking under ladders, or gave up all hope of a good life if a black cat crossed their paths....
