Subject: Good News For The Iowa Girls

Hi Bobbie,
I got a call from the Manager of Younkers Department Store today. Younkers is a very respected Midwest chain that has stores in the 5 states surrounding Iowa, similar to Macy's. The Manager had seen Karissa and Alyssa in the 4th of July Parade. He would like Karissa and Alyssa to model in the Back To School Fashion Show on Aug. 28th, a Saturday afternoon show. It is in celebration of their new store at Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines, Iowa. They will even do the girls' Hair and Make-up before the show at Younkers Salon. It was 10:15 when he called me, and he said if I could get Karissa to the store before Noon, he would donate a casual wear outfit that she could wear at Nationals! Wow!
Karissa was at a sleepover and had stayed up until 2 A.M., but was quickly up and around when I told her the news. She quickly got herself looking spiffy, and we raced over to Younkers. There the 2 Fashion Show ladies took her measurements and had her try on about 20 outfits from the Juniors Department. She selected Tommy Hilfiger Jeans and a red Tommy shirt that both ladies felt looked great and Karissa too. We were so grateful!
You know, experiences like this make us so proud to be a part of your program. The girls never would have had this opportunity, had they not been representing their titles in the Parade. It just shows, good things happen when the girls step out into the community. The manager said it will be good exposure for the girls.
The 2 Fashion Show directors want Karissa and Alyssa to write a brief bio., including their title, what they were judged on, where the pageant was held, their activities at Nationals, etc., so it can be read as they walk the runway. They are both so excited! We will be sure to take lots of pictures and bring the camcorder.
We are anxious to meet everyone at Nationals! See you soon Bobbie!
